Ron’s varied resume reflects his wide range of musical abilities. Ron has graced the stage with accomplished artists such as Mitch Ryder, Darlene Love, Mick Jones, Badfinger, Sam Moore, Dee Dee Ramone, Gary US Bonds, Gloria Gaynor, The Miracles, Dion, the Stylistics, the Trammps, the Shirelles, Roberta Flack, Mark Lindsay, Vanilla Fudge, Tavares, Tommy Roe, Maxine Nightingale, Billy J. Kramer, Leslie Gore and jazz artists Dave Valentin, Bill Charlap, Nicole Zuraitis,, Lew Soloff, Lee Muziker, Darmon Meader, Rhonda Ross and the Guy Lombardo Band to name but a few. Ron also spent over 20 years working as Musical Director/Drummer for Lou Christie. Some of his other credits include performances with the Three Tenors, the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, the K-Rock WXRK Christmas Show and several Off-Broadway productions.
When not performing live, Ron keeps busy with recording sessions, teaching and composing. He is known for his musical creativity, hard work ethic and professionalism. Ron has appeared on many recordings and is a first call session player, built on his reputation as ‘one take capable’.
Along with nightclub appearances, Ron has performed in such prestigious venues as Carnegie Hall, the Meadowlands Arena, the Apollo Theater, the Ed Sullivan Theater, Boston Symphony Hall, the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame, Walt Disney World, New Jersey Performing Arts Center, PNC Arts Center, Bethel Woods Amphitheater, the Beacon Theater, Stabler Arena, Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Baltimore Symphony Hall and countless other venues across the globe. You may have seen Ron performing on nationally broadcast television shows such as the CBS Early Show.
Ron is a published composer who has composed works for chamber ensemble, concert band, jazz ensembles as well as commercial music. Publishing company Mel Bay has published Ron’s book “Groovin Rudiments”.
Ron holds a Master of Music degree from William Paterson University and a Bachelors Degree in Percussion Performance from the State University of New York at Purchase. Always happy to share his knowledge with others, he has been a teacher for many years and has a very active teaching schedule.
